Hello!
I’m Gillian — a creative therapist, movement practitioner, aerialist, photographer, mermaid and tea drinker. I love working with movement, dance, creative and ocean-informed practices to support wellbeing and creative connection. My work brings together embodied creative therapy, gentle movement, and the symbolism of the sea as ways to explore reflection, regulation, and care.
I’m particularly interested in how creativity and movement can be accessible, adaptable, and responsive to different bodies and life stages. Much of my practice is shaped by recovery, change, and the understanding that creatove work doesnt have to be results driven to be meaningful. I work slowly and with attention, creating spaces where people can meet themselves with curiosity rather than pressure.
The name Circles & Shadows reflects the rhythms that shape both movement and life — cycles of return and change, and the way light shifts as we move through them. Circles speak to repetition, renewal, and the ongoing nature of creative and embodied practice, while shadows remind us that movement creates contrast, depth, and moments of pause. Together, they hold the idea that change doesn’t always arrive in straight lines, and that growth can happen quietly, through attention, adaptation, and returning again and again to what sustains us.
Circles & Shadows grew from a desire to hold space for cycles, thresholds, and the quieter moments of change — the places where creativity often begins. Whether through aerial and dance workshops, ocean-inspired journalling, or reflective movement sessions, my aim is to offer practices that feel supportive, spacious, and gently held.
I also love photography and run Circles and Shadows Photography
Alongside my independent work, I’m part of Aria Mermaids, a collective exploring mermaid movement a love of the water.
